On a glorious winters day SWT director, Patrick Gaertner, flew the Superwatt Helicopter around the penisular and took some aerial shots of the new addition to the Orion Building.
Superwatt was proud to take part and host a stand at the 2010 Power and Electricity World Africa Exhibition at Sandton Convention Centre, Johannesburg. There were many familiar names and faces as well as some new and international companies that took part. Please refer to our News Page for a more detailed account of the exhibition.
Sunday’s “Toyota Cycle Lab Cape Cobra Challenge” was undoubtedly the first major challenge of the Western Cape’s cycling calendar for the 2010 season – and challenging it was indeed! In true Cape Town fashion, the gruelling 85km route which included climbs such as Boyes Drive, Redhill, Black Hill, Slangkop and Ou Kaapseweg, was made more challenging by a strong South Easterly wind!
Superwatt has recently conducted a complete overhaul of the station's back-up electricity supply as part of the Cape Town Station upgrade. The installation set new standards in terms of synchronised power via step-up & step-down transformers and offers the possibility of power co-generation. The system provides a complete solution ahead of the 2010 FIFA World Cup when South Africa's power supply will be stretched to its limits
Superwatt has successfully completed the project at the desalination plant, as all four generators have been delivered, installed and commission and are currently in use. The project, which was completed on time, has been deemed a huge success.

An uninterrupted power supply was needed to safeguard the Betko cold store against any break in the cold chain since a single outage could result in the loss of the entire season's export crop. Superwatt supplied its first two QST30 USA built Cummins (2x 1100kVA) to service the clients needs.
Superwatt is a proud sponsor to cycling in South Africa – both directly and through one of the largest cycling clubs in Cape Town, Club 100.
